Are you looking for a way to become more involved with the APA, or to volunteer with the APA Foundation? Here's your chance - the APA Foundation has recently launched the Foundation Ambassador Volunteer Program and is looking for Ambassadors to join us!

What is a Foundation Ambassador?

Foundation Ambassadors are a volunteer network of APA members that spread the achievements and efforts of the APA Foundation to other APA members, colleagues, and friends. As a Foundation Ambassador, you're part of the national movement towards a more compassionate and complete understanding of mental health and all of the efforts taking place to change

As an Ambassador, what do I do?

As a Foundation Ambassador, we will alert you to recent news of our programs, initiatives, and community impact through regular email updates. With that knowledge, you will be able to answer when your colleagues ask "what is the APA Foundation?" "what does the APA Foundation do?" or "why should I donate to the APA Foundation?".

There is no expense to volunteer for the APA Foundation, and requires very little of your time. And, as a thank you, Foundation Ambassadors receive discounted tickets to our Annual Benefit event during the APA Annual Meeting.

Where can I share information about the APA Foundation?

Anywhere you'd like! Here are some ideas:

  • Your local District Branch meeting,
  • The APA Annual Meeting,
  • Area Council Meetings,
  • The APA Institute on Psychiatric Services (IPS)
  • While eating lunch with your friends and colleagues,
