Leave a Legacy

You can plan to advance mental health for many years into the future and establish a lasting legacy for you and your family.

Planned giving lets you find ways to make charitable gifts now, or after your lifetime, while enjoying financial benefits for you and your family and utilizing your estate assets rather than disposable income.

The most common planned gift is a bequest in your will or living trust. You may wish to include the American Psychiatric Association Foundation for a specific amount, a percentage, or the residual after providing for your loved ones.

Other planned gifts include:

  • A charitable gift annuity;
  • A charitable remainder trust;
  • A charitable lead trust;
  • An endowment fund;
  • Retirement plan assets;
  • Life insurance policies.

You may wish to consult your legal or financial advisor to make such a contribution.

To learn more about your planned giving options, and how these gifts can make a real difference to the work of the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, email the Foundation.

Upon notification of your intention, the Foundation will add you to our Legacy Society.
